Atapuerca is a beautiful rural village located 20 km from the stunning medieval city of Burgos. The caves of Sierra de Atapuerca are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Surrounded by Sierra de la Demanda and the Atapuerca karstic mountains, the village is also home to some important wetlands and is situated along the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.
